With the opening ceremony complete, the events of the 2022 Games have begun just months after the 2020 Summer Olympics took place in Tokyo due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Following the opening ceremony, which began at 7 a.m. ET Friday, there is a large break in the action from Beijing due to the 13-hour time difference. There will be an encore presentation of the opening ceremony that will be shown on NBC at 8 p.m.Following that encore presentations, the events will resume on Friday (Saturday morning in China). Women's snowboarding slopestyle qualifying will be the first even once the action resumes.
