Katy Perry had the most awkward BRIT Awards red carpet interview

We found Katy Perry's show-pony antics on the BRITs red carpet pretty funny, but they seemed to go down like her poor unfortunate backing dancer with hosts George Shelley and Lilah Parsons.

"You want fashion, you want glamour... Are we live?" Katy deadpanned as she made her show-stopping entrance for George and Lilah's Facebook Live Stream.

She then explained soberly: "Sometimes when you're a foreigner, in a foreign place you make an absurdity of yourself."

After dancing around the carpet to showcase her sequined dress and jacket, George tried to get Katy to keep still, and asked if she had any pre-performance nerves. She jokingly replied (we think she was joking): "No! I take pills for that stuff. Come on!"

The hosts laughed nervously, and when Lilah went on to declare how great it was that she was back in the spotlight again, Katy hit back: "I never left, honey. I never left.

"I just took some time to myself."

The singer then went on to reveal that she was really looking forward to seeing Ed Sheeran, resulting in George innocently saying: "Well, we won't keep you too long, [Ed's] in there..."

Feigning offence, Katy shrilled: "Oh, alright, I'm leaving... Fine, I'll leave!"

The former Union J singer told her to stay, and when Lilah complimented the star's outfit, Katy joked: "Do you know what it is, Bruno Mars? Versace on the floor."

We got it, even if the interviewers looked a little awkward about the whole thing.

"It's really Versace. And it really can be on the floor. Tonight," Katy continued.

"On the floor?" Lilah questioned. "We're going to let you go..."

"You're going to let me go?! I'm firing you, I'm firing you!" Katy told the bewildered pair.

"I'm melting, you're so hot," George offered.

He added quickly: "Do you want a mic drop? No mic drop?" - but she had already wandered off.

The star gave an incredible performance of new single 'Chained to the Rhythm' with Skip Marley at last night's BRITs, and caused a political stir with skeleton versions of Donald Trump and Theresa May.
