I am a Chinese living in Hong Kong. In the past, I have never liked politics, but because of this tariff crisis, I tried to understand it. I have been to the United States many times for work, and I feel that most Americans are very nice. But I don’t really like the governments and politicians of the United States or Western countries that consider themselves democratic. They always use their own standards of democracy and human rights to point fingers at other countries, and even spread rumors and interfere in other countries’ internal affairs. European countries are all small countries, so they united to form the European Union. This can promote the division of labor and development among European countries, reduce differences and wars, and avoid being bullied by big powers. Putting aside historical issues, what I like most about working with the Japanese is that the Japanese people are united, very polite and honest. Before 1987, Japan's manufacturing industry was very strong and exported their product to the whole world. At that time, the United States took advantage of its big power to demand that Japan appreciate the yen, causing Japan's economy to decline for decades and has not yet recovered. The U.S. government has seen China's rapid economic growth and is afraid of losing its leading position in the world in technology, military power and economy. In the past decade or so, it has begun to suppress China's development, especially during Trump's first term, when he advocated the China Danger Theory and technological blockade. How many wars has the United States fought around the world since World War II? How many times has China had this? The United States uses the excuse that Chinese technological products endanger national security to ask Western countries to contain China. Then why does the United States monitor the phone calls of other heads of state? During the 2019 Hong Kong student revolution, European, American and even Taiwanese forces supported Hong Kong students and democrats and blocked roads. At the beginning, the Hong Kong government and police were very restrained. Later, students stormed the Legislative Council, blocked roads and besieged police stations, paralyzed Hong Kong's economy, destroyed and set fire to public facilities, banks and shops, stole police guns, and even beat and set fire to people who had different political views from them. Is this behavior recognized by the United States and Western countries? How does the U.S. government currently treat immigrants and students with dissenting opinions? Did the British government give us the freedom to vote when it ruled? The Governor is appointed by the United Kingdom, most of the Legislative Council members are businessmen appointed by the British government, and most of the officials of the Hong Kong government are British. It was only a few years before 1997 that Hong Kong people were taught the right to democratic elections. Europe and the United States can enact national security laws, why Hong Kong can’t? I strongly oppose any country waging war, aggression or oppression against another country. Small countries are afraid of being next to big countries. Europe and the United States tore up NATO's non-expansion agreement, and Ukraine sought protection and wanted to join NATO. Russia must have been worried about national security and opposed it, which eventually led to a war. The Ukrainian people were killed and injured and lost their homes. Now they are still being bullied by Trump and forced to sign a mining agreement (what is the difference between this and the bullying and plundering of China by Western powers more than 100 years ago). This is the sadness of small countries choosing sides! The United States adopts different attitudes towards Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Palestine. What is the moral standard behind this? Western countries always send warships to patrol and conduct exercises around China, and even deploy weapons and military bases. Doesn’t China worry about national security? What if China is like this too? What do Western countries think? Trump said it is possible to use war to seize ownership of Greenland and the Panama Canal. Is this the behavior of a democratic country? If a war really breaks out, who can protect them? I strongly agree with Singapore's position of remaining a neutral country. I feel that Western countries are very contract-abiding, but I am surprised to see the US government constantly tearing up agreements signed with international organizations or between countries! Taiwan is originally Chinese territory. The United States has been using Taiwan to contain China. After Trump was elected president, he forced tsmc to invest in the United States. Taiwan’s so-called democratic government betrayed tsmc and is still engaging in internal party struggles under the pressure of unfair tariffs. How pathetic the Chinese are! China's rapid development over the past 40 years is mainly due to the China government's long-term strategic planning and goals, coupled with the hard work of the Chinese people, which has created a group of rich people and improved the lives of the majority of people living below the poverty line, making the country increasingly prosperous and the people's lives better and better! People from all over the world live on the same planet. We must protect our environment so that future generations can live better here! This is the community of shared future proposed by President Xi Jinping. A major country must shoulder the responsibilities of a major country. Finally, every country may have many problems within it, but we should not point the causes of these problems to other countries. People and countries can communicate and learn from each other and solve them together, so that the world can be united and live in peace! Thanks! |
