The Winter Olympics are officially underway. With the opening ceremony complete, the events of the 2022 Games have begun just months after the 2020 Summer Olympics took place in Tokyo due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the opening ceremony, which began at 7 a.m. ET Friday, there is a large break in the action from Beijing due to the 13-hour time difference. There will be an encore presentation of the opening ceremony that will be shown on NBC at 8 p.m. Below are some highlights from the opening ceremonies, followed by the entire schedule for the first day of the games.
