Widowed father pays emotional tribute to his dead wife... by recreating their photos with three-year-old daughter in her place

A bereaved husband has found an unusual way to pay tribute to his late wife - by recreating photos they had taken together with their toddler daughter in her place.

Rafael del Col, 35, from Maringa, Brazil, lost his wife Tatiane Valques, 27, in 2013 after she was killed in a road accident.

After racking his brains for a way to honour her memory, he organised a shoot with three-year-old Raisa that mimicked photos he had taken with his wife in the week before their wedding in 2009.

Mr del Col decided to do the shoot after reading about a man who had lost his wife to cancer and recreated their wedding photos with his daughter.

Raisa, whose mother died before she'd even reached her first birthday, wore her jewellery and clothes and mimicked her poses with her doting dad.

The family dog, which was around when Tatiane was still alive and featured in the original shoot, also appears in the pictures.

In one photo, Raisa grins as she wraps her arms around her father's neck while in another she tenderly touches his face.

Raisa recreated a solo shot of Tatiane too, in which she appears wearing her beaded jewellery and a similar white tank top and jeans.

They even included the family dog (pictured), who was around when Tatiane was still alive and featured in the original shoot, but has since had a haircut

After Mr del Col lost his wife of four years, he started a blog to support others who have found themselves in a similar situation.

On it, he wrote: 'Shortly after I lost my wife, I was seeking help regarding early widowhood and also paternity without the presence of the mother and found almost nothing.

Now, thank God, things are adjusting slowly, my daughter is well, and is growing, developing normally.

But beside my responsibilities with my princess, I need to deal with feelings of grief, and the loss of my partner with whom I lived for 10 wonderful years.'

After Rafael lost his wife of four years, he started a blog to support others who have found themselves in a similar situation

Rafaele added, 'Now, thank God, things are adjusting slowly, my daughter is well, and is growing, developing normally

Since then, Mr del Col's blog has gone from strength to strength, with the devoted father writing of his surprise and gratitude after amassing 18,000 views in just 12 days.

His Instagram account, devoted largely to photos of Raisa, now boasts 16,000 followers.

Mr del Col has also gone on to found love once more in the shape of a woman named Magrelinha, who he describes as a 'beautiful girlfriend... sent from God'.
